'Indelible' is a SOTA Dance showcase, presenting a collection of original student choreographies by the Year 4 Dance cohort.

 

I designed the showcase’s programme booklet with an original photographic concept. A collection of dance gestures that I directed and photographed, featured a couple of dance students creating trails of charcoal on a white background, utilising certain dance movements I observed during their physical dance rehearsals.

 

The design took direct inspiration from the meaning of the word ‘indelible’, which was defined as “making a mark that cannot be erased”.  The trails of charcoal on white paper symbolises the ‘indelible mark’ that is left in the audience who watches the performance, as of the the theme of the showcase.
